Diamond Creek FIre Station

Local Business, Diamond Creek, VIC, Australia

The Diamond Creek Fire Brigade responds to over 150 calls for help annually in and around Diamond Creek. Diamond Creek is manned entirely by volunteer fire fighters who respond to the station in the event of a call out. We currently have 60 volunteer fire fighters and support members from all walks of life. Members are notified by our fire siren and by individual pagers.

Our station houses our three fire fighting appliances and our brigade car. Our pumper is designed to combat structure fires in an urban environment and carries a large range of equipment for a whole range of incidents we come across around Diamond Creek. Our two tankers are designed to respond to grass and bushfire in a rural environment, but are also used throughout the township.

The station is also the southern headquarters of the Whittlesea-Diamond Valley Group which is a collection of 8 brigades from Whittlesea in the north to Diamond Creek in the south. The station also houses the Whittlesea-Diamond Valley Group Car.

Volunteers are also involved in community fire education through the CFA's "Fire Safe Kids" program and hosting community information sessions, such as Fire Ready Victoria meetings and Bushfire Planning Workshops. We also feature annually in the Diamond Creek Town Fair and Torch Light Parade.

Volunteers train every Sunday morning and during evening sessions. We encourage members of the community who are interested in becoming members to drop in to the station on a Sunday morning, or visit www.cfa.vic.gov.au for more information.
